Backwards Booking

Bertrand and I are going to Las Vegas next weekend. We booked the trip about a month ago so haven't had to worry about it since. Last night, I was filling out our joint calendar and thought I would put our flight information on it. That was when I noticed that...I had booked the flights REVERSED! So we were set to depart from Vegas on Friday afternoon and arrive...home. Doh!

It's all resolved and our flights are set from the proper cities now...with some penalty fees. I now make sure to double/triple/quadruple check my flight information while booking.

I'd better be winning that money back!

A friend once booked a flight from Europe to Antigua, a city in the mountains of Guatemala. After a half day long trip she looked out the window during landing and was surprised to see a small island. She called me from the airport and we were both shocked to find out that she had booked a flight to the carribean island Antigua instead of the city in Guatemala! She hadn't noticed when she had booked online because Antigua Guatemala actually doesn't have an airport, so there was only one choice in the pull down menu...

I have done that about three times, and felt none the smarter for it...

I just took a look at your blog, and wow! Max is SO cute, and it looks like your Asia trip was wonderful! I'm so glad to see that you and B. are having a good time. I'm still in Colorado, getting snowed on (where does all this white stuff come from?) and celebrating my very first book deal, a travel book on Colorado Byways--woohoo! I get to drive around the mountains and write about it. Crossing my fingers that Byways of Djibouti is next ;).

Take care and stay in touch!
