Stolen Sunglasses

After having lunch yesterday, Bertrand and I hopped in the car to head home. A few minutes later, I panicked..."Where are my sunglasses???" I looked all over the car. Did I drop them? Are they under the seat? Did I leave them at the restaurant? Bertrand also looked up and down to see if he could spot them and asked me, "Did you wear them into the restaurant?" I couldn't remember if I'd worn them, if they were snapped on my shirt, or if I had put them on top of my head. I thought through the past couple of hours and what I could have done with my sunglasses. I could have sworn that I'd left them in the car. How could I lose my designer glasses? "Do you want to turn back?" he asked.

At this point, "Yes! Yes! Please turn around" I exclaimed as I turned pleadingly to look at him and beg him to turn back. And then...I paused, "Are you KIDDING me?"

Then he turned and stared at me and said, "What?"...while wearing MY gigantic sunglasses...instead of his own little tiny Oakleys.

Watch Max Grow

Super Productive Weekend

Max & TobyWhat a productive weekend I had. Bertrand and I wrote out a list of things we wanted to accomplish this weekend, and for once, were actually able to check off every single item on that list!

We packed up a few boxes of giveaways, cleaned the house from top to bottom, re-caulked the bathrooms, painted the house, trimmed all the trees and bushes, planted flowers, polished the cabinets, fixed odds & ends, and got our house in tip-top shape. Spring cleaning at its best! We even had time to go out to the stores for errands and to hang out with friends. Aside from a mishap where I leaned against a freshly painted wall (doh!), everything went without a hitch.

I wish I was this productive all the time.

Another one bites the dust

For months I've had a pretty little purple badge holder which was cute and different than the usual plain black everyone wears. This morning, while getting off the shuttle, only I made it off the shuttle while my badge remained attached to the chair. I got up at my stop and walked only to be pulled back by the *snap* of my badge holder. Others lined up behind me as I tried to gather myself and climb back up to gather the unattached badge. This seems to happen to me every few months...is it just me? My last badge holder lasted a wee bit longer until it got caught on my desk chair and pulled me back as I was getting up from my desk.

So now, I am back to the standard black. Hopefully this will last longer than the others. Hopefully I will also learn not to get so attached to the items around me.

Toby loves Opera

Toby cruisin'Toby has a very unique taste for music. When he is in the room with us, and he hears Opera music coming from the TV, he always runs up to it, tilts his head and stares while wagging his tail. We'd always joked that he loved Opera.

One time, while we were away on a trip and my parents were watching him for us, they called us to tell us that they were watching a movie when an Opera song came up in the background. Toby proceeded to howl along with the music!

Last weekend we went up to Tahoe to spend a couple of days with the family for my dad's birthday. We rented a cabin and brought "the boys" with us. On part of the car ride up, Toby started to freak out and got restless. He whined and wouldn't sit still. Despite our efforts to calm him down, he continued to whine. As a desperate attempt to help him, we turned our satellite radio to the Opera channel. And what do you know...my baby Toby sat down peacefully and smiled the rest of the ride.

m u s t g e t m o r e s l e e p

As I woke up to get ready for work this morning, Bertrand told me about our conversation we had in the middle of the night...while I was sleeping.
Me: "Oh no! Max can't see!"
Bertrand: "He can't?"
Me: "His hair is too long."
Bertrand: "No, we got it trimmed last week...remember?"
Then I proceed to stick my hand out in the air and pet the air saying, "maaaaxxxxx"

Wow.

Little Instigator

FuzzyfaceMax's teacher was sick last week so his first day of puppy preschool was delayed one week. Last night, we took him to school. Can you guess which "kid" our little Max was of the class? He was the troublemaker.

All the puppies were sitting around in a circle with their mommies and daddies. Max stayed quiet but taunted the big puppy next to him. That poor puppy got all riled up, jumping around, and barking. Then he got squirted with water in the face by the teacher for barking. Then our boy Max, let out one single "yelp!" as if saying, "ha!"

That little punk.

Oldies but goodies

Last night my girlfriends were over to hang out and watch our shows together. As we are commenting on the contestants on American Idol, Sarah mentioned that she saw on the electronic billboard outside the county fairgrounds, that "Boyz II Men" are coming to the fair this summer. Suddenly, the three of us are squealing and getting so excited about this magnificent discovery. It was decided on the spot that we were all going. Then we thought about all of our friends who would want to go with us too. All the phones were pulled out and calls were made, text messages were sent, plans for friends-out-of-town to return home were made. Then we realized that our group was getting so large...maybe we would have to create a mass email or even an evite for this "event".

Wait...does that mean we are old when the groups we know and love are now playing at...the county fair?
