Seriously

Seriously? Seriously.

That is my word. Well...that, "whatever" and the phrase, "oh my goodness."

Said correctly, it can convey sarcasm, dismay, disbelief, a sense of moral and ethical superiority and gentle chastising punishment all at once. Seriously.

The characters on my new favorite show, Grey's Anatomy, also love this word. They use it left and right. One night while I was watching my show, Bertrand overheard part of it and said, "hey, they talk like you." I know! These are my people.

Seriously.

Cha-ching!

Welcome to VegasWe went to Las Vegas for the long President's Day weekend. For the most part, we had no plans aside from...relax and have fun. And relax and have fun we did! This was my second time in Vegas and rather than being my usual prepared self, completely forgot a slew of essential things, including comfortable shoes. Bad move. I also managed to forget how big and long the strip really is. Saying that a hotel is two hotels away is equivalent to a half hour walk. My feet were killing me by the end of the first night. But despite the aching feet and my constant whining, we got to relax, hang out, walk the strip, see the different hotels and casinos, shop, eat (a lot), and of course play! We also got to see the newest Cirque du Soleil show, KÀ. It was amazing and I was completely wow'ed by it. It combined the usual amazing acrobatics, artistry, and music of Cirque du Soleil but also had a great storyline. I absolutely loved it. Three buffets, two aching feet, and one show later, we returned home happy, tired, and relaxed (and we didn't lose any money!).

*sigh*

I just got a much needed one hour table massage. I was so relaxed, I fell asleep three times during it. Me...the insomniac of late, fell asleep three times. I think I need a massage every night before I go to sleep.

Grey's Fanatic

I am a huge fan of the show, Grey's Anatomy. Something about it just gets to me. I think the writers of the show do an amazing job. I literally laugh and cry during every episode that I have seen. The storyline and characters bring out the emotional wreck in me. I am now an even bigger fan of the show because I found out the writers have a blog!

Oh yeah...they have podcasts too and the music on the show is awesome.

The quest for Bert

I want that oneSince the weather wasn't ideal for snowboarding on Saturday, we decided to spend the day in Reno instead. While we were at Circus Circus, I noticed one of those claw machines filled with stuffed animals...and there in the pile was a Bert! I always lose at those machines but once I layed eyes on Bert, I knew I wanted him. Bertrand, being the gentleman he is, decided that he would get it for me. After a couple of attempts and screams on my part (a crowd even gathered!), with bated breath, little Bert was picked up by the claw and dropped into the chute.
Yes! Got it! Me and my Berts
Success!

Me and my Berts.

Weekend away

Squaw ValleyI spent part of last week and this past weekend in Lake Tahoe. The first half of the trip I spent with my friends and coworkers having a blast and partying it up on the slopes on our annual ski trip. Despite my injured rib and the wet and windy weather, I went snowboarding and still had a lot of fun. I got to experience something totally different and met and bonded with a bunch of new friends. The second half of the trip, I spent with my husband enjoying the scenery in Tahoe and hanging out in Reno. We learned the etiquette and basics of blackjack from a really nice dealer, played some carnival games, ate at an all-you-can-eat lobster buffet, and stared in awe at the snow covered mountains.

Sometimes it's nice just to get away for a little while.

Travel bug

I think once you start getting a little bit of traveling in, it eats at you and you get addicted. After traveling throughout Europe, you would think I'd gotten all my traveling in for awhile. Instead, I want to do more!

So since then, I have been planning a bunch of weekend getaways. A couple of trips to Tahoe, Las Vegas, Chicago, Arizona, New York and Hawaii should do it.
