Organist

Jeremy, the seven year old brother of our ringbearer, called and left me the following message on my machine.

Hello, this is Jeremy. I was calling to see if you had any open positions or somewhere I can help in the wedding. I'm thinking I'd like to play the organ.

Geeks

Geeks

Rawr

So I've been sick since Wednesday. No fun. Normally when I get sick, I get really sick and then get over it just as quickly as it came. This time around it is lasting for what seems like ages. I'm tired of blowing my nose. I'm tired of coughing and sneezing. I'm just tired. Rawr. Go away sickness.

Pstt...

I woke up this morning with a raspy voice and a sore throat. Please don't tell me I'm getting sick. I guess if I'm going to get sick, might as well get sick now instead of later. I've got some marrying and travelling to do.

Awesome Day

Birthday DinnerI had an awesome day today. I woke up feeling fully rested and was excited to get my day started. I went shopping with one of my favorite people in the world, was surprised by some gifts and nick-nacks, had my phone ringing off the hook at some points of the day with close friends on the other end of the line, got a ton of things checked off my to-do list, and got to sit and relax for awhile. This evening some of my friends took me to one of my favorite restaurants where from the moment we started our night together until we all went our separate ways, was non-stop laughter and good times. I am a fiend for board games and interactive games and my friends entertained and amused me by playing all sorts of games with me throughout the night. We started with Hangman on the table at dinner, to Lingo, Twister, Pictionary, and Taboo. I am one happy girl.

Not so bad for my last birthday as a bachelorette.

Been busy

When it rains...it pours. Luckily there is sunshine while it is raining so it is not so bad. I have been one busy little bee. With less three weeks left of my bachelorette'ishness, I have been multi-tasking like mad. My soon-to-be hubby has been very helpful and involved though, which I am more than grateful for. Everything is slowly coming together. I can see it in the distance...and then...EUROPE! Woot!

They have also been keeping me busy. Check out Blogger for Word (blog straight from Microsoft Word) and Flag as Objectionable!

Update: And now Comment captchas.

Bridal Shower

Bridal ShowerMy closest girlfriends got together and showered me with bridal things on Saturday. They planned an unforgettable day with games, stories, gifts, chocolate, and other wonderful girly things. They even created a special scrapbook for me where they each created a special page to add to it.

I am so blessed with such wonderful friends and family.

This does not have anything to do animals. Just a little reminder that I am going to be married to a golfer.

Motto

I just put this magnet up on my desk so I can look at it all day long. It's my new motto.

dance
as though no one is watching you,
love
as though you have never been hurt before,
sing
as though no one can hear you,
live
as though heaven is on earth

Ladybug my butt!

Over the weekend, we played a very intense game of Pictionary. You probably don't think Pictionary could be intense, but try playing with 20 screaming people in your face. A few of our friends are French and have adorable accents, which usually lead to some communication problems with the rest of us. During one of the all-play rounds, the picture to draw was 'ladybug'. The girl's team started drawing a little bug with round circles on its back and immediately won the point. When we turned to look at what the guy's team had drawn, we saw a picture of a lady...and then a butt. I guess in French, 'ladybug' is 'lady-butt'.

Swip

New word I invented tonight while trying to keep a conversation after an exhausting day:

swip

It's a combination of swap and switch.

In Context:

Me: Bertrand, when are we going to get our TiVo?
Nicole: I thought he was the one who always said, "I want Tiivvoooo"
Bertrand nods
Me: Yeah, we swipped.

AHHHH

My mom went to bed around 9:15 tonight. She wasn't feeling well. I've been going about my own business and just opened the door to my room and stepped out into the hallway. She was standing right outside my door. I screamed my lungs out and then fell on the floor. I still can't breathe. At least I know if something were to happen, I could scream. I obviously can't run though.

Mini-Christmas

Getting married is fun...aside from the constant stress of planning. We sent off our invitations a couple of weeks ago and every day since then has been a sort of mini-Christmas. Every day when I come home from work, there is a response card or little note waiting for me. We come home and immediately check our mail to see if anyone else responded. We literally jumped up and down when we got our first response from a very close friend. I love getting mail.
