blogher!

I went to blogher today. Only for a convention of blogging women would I wake up at 6am on a Saturday morning. It was pretty incredible to see, hear, and meet these women who affect the world through their blogs. Blogging is a powerful medium that empowers anyone to express themselves. The women bloggers are out there...*ahem*, and we are definitely making ourselves heard.

The event was very well documented considering nearly every single person in attendance was a blogger of some sort. Someone was even out blogging blogher feet.

Hmmm...these look familiar...

Onto the fun stuff

Last night we filled out some papers and read some brochures on tours and excursions we could do as we explore Europe on our month long honeymoon. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself.

Oui oui!

BlogHer

What are you doing on July 30th? I'm going to BlogHer, to hear and learn more about how women are affecting the blogging community and to meet these fascinating people. See ya there!

Google Moon

Well, I'd like to visit the moon
On a rocket ship high in the air
Yes, I'd like to visit the moon
But I don't think I'd like to live there
Though I'd like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I might like it for one afternoon
I don't want to live on the moon

Sleepyhead

I don't know if it's the heat or just the fact that I am feeling overwhelmed, but lately I have become somewhat narcoleptic. I will be going about my day all nice and normal when out of nowhere, I am hit by this sudden exhaustion to the point where I can barely keep my own head up! So much so, that this weekend, while walking around town, Bertrand and I had to stop at a bench just so I could sit, close my eyes, and take a quick power nap. Yes, on a bench out in the middle of town. We also had to end one of our shopping trips early so that I could crash in the car on the way home because I couldn't make it all the way home. I think I just need to sleep...for a week.

Twinkle Toes

After many months and possibly even years of saying that we would try ballroom dancing together, and never actually going, Bertrand and I finally went tonight. We came early to join the lessons that were taking place before the main event. Of course, being the geniuses we are, somehow managed to take the intermediate class first and then for the second session, realized our mistake and went downstairs to the beginners class (the beginners class was actually harder for us). It was fun to try something new and to step out of that comfort zone together. Thanks to the encouragement and coaching from Graham, I can now somewhat do a cross-step waltz (sorry about the toes Graham).

Soon...

Life has been a bit crazy for me lately. Not only are my weekends packed, but now my weekdays are also filling up. I have a mental to-do list that I am constantly checking to keep myself on the ball. Last night, Bertrand and I were talking about how much we are looking forward to this winter. When we can come home, turn on the T.V., and actually have nothing to do. I can't wait.

Burn baby burn

Last weekend, I managed to create a permanent bracelet of sorts on my wrist. While preparing invitations for our upcoming wedding, I overheated some wax to seal up the envelopes. When it didn't drip the way I wanted it to, I picked it up to see what was wrong and managed to burn myself. I now have a stylin' bandage on my wrist which looks like a wristband. Maybe I could start a new trend?

Jumpin' July 4th

I love long weekends, especially ones filled with sun, rollercoasters, junk food, laughter, and big fluffy characters. We went to Southern California again this year to hit up all the theme parks and visit some close friends.

After exploring Downtown Disney Friday night and stuffing ourselves with yummy food, we woke up at the crack of dawn and were at the gates for Disneyland as soon as it opened. Since we are the hard-core people that we are, despite the crowds, we were able to hit every single ride and even ride a couple more than once. We were lucky enough to also get to ride Space Mountain as they were previewing the newly renovated ride before it officially opens. We ended our very full and exhausting day with an amazing fireworks show and went back to the hotel to get a little bit of rest before hitting up Magic Mountain the following day. After spending time with very close friends at a barbecue on July 4th, we headed home in time to enjoy non-fireworks. Since we are going to be pretty busy over the next couple of months, having a non-stop weekend of fun was perfect.

Wedding Planning

Planning a wedding = stressful

Maybe we should just elope...
