*whimper*

I just got back from a wedding (a very fun, cute, and loving one at that) and am suffering. Apparently I am allergic to something I ate at some point tonight. It started off with a slight itch and then a small rash, but by the time I was in the car on the way home, my entire body started to itch. Once I stepped into the house, I was itchy everywhere including under my scalp, all over my face and inside my ears. Anywhere I could possibly have a rash, I have one. I just took some Benadryl which I pray will kick in at any moment now so I can just pass out and get some rest. Whatever it is that caused this, is evil...evil I tell ya.

My entire weekend consisted of sleeping, eating, reading, thinking and laying in bed.

Dedication

At night before I go to bed, I sometimes listen to a love song dedication show on the radio. Last night a man called in and said he wanted to dedicate a song to, "my friend, my lover, and soulmate"

The host heard him say, "my friend, my lover, and cell mate"

That changes things. =)

No tea for you

Relaxing
Relaxing

To relax and enjoy the gorgeous weather, I decided I would lay outside, listen to my iPod, drink my iced tea, and read my Cosmo. Toby liked all of the above except the drinking the iced tea part.

Revo cable

I can't read upside-down or backwards. My brain just doesn't work that way. When facing someone who is reading something and they point at what they're reading without flipping it over, it is all gibberish to me. This is also why I was never good at cheating in school and just settled for using my brain. Every time I ride the shuttle, I look out the window where there is a sticker facing the outside. Every day I read what the sticker says in my head and wonder what it is actually saying. Something about the Revo cable permit expiring every 30 days or something. Every day I read this and wonder what a Revo cable is. Hmmm....maybe something under the bus? Maybe that's why the bus was always so bumpy, the cable expired. Today there was a large accident which caused a huge backup and we spent a much longer time on the shuttle. I finally decided I would actually voice my thoughts and asked the guys in the shuttle, "What is a Revo cable?" They looked out the window at the contruction sites and said, "Where are you looking?" I pointed at the sticker on the window that was facing outwards. "You mean...revocable?"

Ohhhhh...revocable permit. Yes, that makes much more sense.

Racquetball

I played racquetball for the first time ever in my life this weekend. There is something highly amusing and odd about hitting a ball as hard as you can in an enclosed room and running full speed towards a wall. My dad used to play a lot in college but that was nearly three decades ago. Some basic tips he gave me before we started...put on my goggles, try not to hit myself, and get out of the way. I got quite a workout trying to get to the ball in time but mostly trying to get out of the way. I fully expected coming home with bruises or a black eye but came home unscathed. Oh wait, I broke a nail.

Home grown lyrics

Do you ever listen to songs and when you don't know what the words are, make them up? My brother and I have always done this for as long as I can remember. There was a song that was always playing on the radio when we were little kids and I used to sing along, "She seems to have a busy boy top shift, she reaches in and grabs right hold of your heart" I was going through some of the music on iTunes today at work and browsed through someone's playlist and saw some Genesis. I thought "ohh eighties!" and clicked on a random song to listen to. The familiar tune started playing and then I realized the title of the song was "Invisible Touch". Hmm...

I guess "invisible touch yeah" could sound like "busy boy top shift"...at least it makes more sense!
