Goodbye Google

Google

GoogleheadsSteve, me, and Tine at Giants GameGoatherder and GoatsGoogle Test EngineeringGoogle Women's TeeB Support

Today is my last day working at Google.

It has been an incredible ride for the almost 5 years I have been at Google. I have been able to see the company grow and flourish over the years and I in turn have grown and learned so much. It has been an invaluable experience to me being able to work on some of the most innovative products and to work with so many brilliant minds.

I still remember the days when the whole Blogger team sat together in one little area and Eric, Steve, Tine, Graham, and I were all squished together in a tiny office throwing Koosh balls at each other. Things were crazy back then, but that is also the time I treasure the most, when things were smaller and more intimate.

While at Google, I got to build up my own team from scratch, establish new processes and work on some pretty awesome projects with some pretty awesome people (Blogger, BlogSearch, and AdWords).

I have accepted an offer at a startup company in Palo Alto called Palantir that does data analysis. The company is small and growing as Google was also a "small" growing "start-up" at the beginning of my time here. I miss and thrive in that environment and this opportunity allows me to do that once again.

I truly treasure the time I have spent at Google. I have made many friendships that will last a lifetime.

Here's to what's next in the future!

while I was reading this post, I thought about how brave you are, giving up a nice job in a nice company and I am sure that you have had great bonding with people there yet you never hesitate to leave and give it up. I know in life we can't have what we really want without risking.....Good luck to all your future endeavors!

Hello Kimbalina,

For you, this is your last day at Google, and for me, is the start of a new experience...

I have 5 years waiting for work at Google.

First, I want to know the headquarters at Mountain View CA, and then, I want to work at Google.

But, I think that one day...

P.D. Blogs of Note has a gift for you. God Bless you!

Sincerely,
José Luis Ávila Herrera

My bestest/closest friend at Google - we've shared so many moments together! The new memories will never be the same without you. Even though we were in separate offices, there was something comforting about coming back to MV and knowing you'd be there to give me a big hug. I'm so going to miss you and our crazy inside jokes - for now it's not 'goodbye' but perhaps 'see you at lunch/dinner/on the weekends/to play wii/ds'? Even better, maybe you can be my holiday date at the next party? =P honestly though, i'm so proud of you kimmy froggy.

PS - thanks for enlightening me on puppy farts.

Kimmy, good luck in your new job.
Have a happy life.
This is an opportunity to thank you.
By presenting seminars I had an audience of 30 persons at most. By using blog facility, in a few weeks, thousands of persons have daily access to what I like to present.
I believe that your team gave to people another level of freedom.
Thank you.
