I miss school

Well, at least the social aspect of it and the holidays. I miss living with my friends and skipping class whenever I felt like it to sleep in. I took a nap this past weekend in the middle of the day and realized that it had been months since I had actually taken a nap in the middle of the day (although I'm tempted to nearly every day). My brother flew home for spring break last weekend and ever since, all I ever see him do is sleep, read, play video games, and sleep some more. I'm jealous.

Gmail - Yeah baby

Google just announced Gmail the new free email service that is provides easy searching through your email and not 2MB or 4MB of space, but 1 GB....yeah that's right, 1GB.

Look out!

I went golfing at a real golf course today for the very first time. I've taken lessons before and played at the driving range several times, but never actually played on a real course. I've always been afraid that I would be holding up all of the 'good' golf players on the real courses. I discovered that golf is one of the most frustrating, painful, and exciting 'sports'. Today, I managed to hit myself, my brother, a tree, and some water all in the span of 2 hours. I also lost 2 of my very pretty 'girl' balls to the darn water. On the positive side, I also got a bogie, which is one above par. I love golf.

New Blogger-T

I like.

Guess what? I'm famous.

Okay..well not really. This week's cover story for Newsweek magazine is of Google. They have a couple of pictures in the article and there is one little picture of the Google cafe at lunchtime. If you look at one of the tables near the bottom, you can see me. Yeah...that little dot, that's me.

Thanks to Eric for the much clearer picture.

Gummi Bears!

I wandered into the kitchen this afternoon for a little snack and much to my surprise, we have Haribo Gummi Bears! *swoon* The original gummies. None of this mushy soft stuff, these are nice and chewy. They're also great for biting in half and sticking on your lip (My guy friends taught me that one).

Free-intuitive Writing

"comes from a deeper place in the psyche. Free-intuitive writing releases the voice of the subconscious by removing or putting aside the control of the conscious mind. You simply wait for whatever comes into your mind, and you write it just as it comes, without worrying about whether it makes sense. You let your hand do the writing. Nothing is irrelevant. " The New Diary by Tristine Rainer

So I tried it:
pen sleepy circles under my eyes poufy blood vessels, yellow wall and folded blanket on the ground. tomorrow birthday sarah email. why he sleepy and tired. diet? need water. family haircut slow lady. put it down pick it up slow. layer. waiting money sleepy. thirsty. cake rolex. not alone. mom for shopping. trust hurt love. hair gap cute orange peel puppy bite climb up. baby cry gifts. tired. tired. tired

Apparently my subconscious is telling me that I'm really tired. Time for bed.

The challenges of being petite

My car is currently having some problems and being taken apart at the shop. In the meantime, the car dealership sent me to Enterprise to get my very own and first rental car ever. I was hoping for a cute little sports car or SUV, but with this nice weather, apparently all of the 'cool' cars have been rented out already. Instead, I got the Dodge Intrepid which is waay too big for me. The seats are unusually low and the wheel is abnormally high. Lil' ole me can barely see over this wheel. I spent my entire commute this morning getting acquainted with the car. Since I can't see the end of the hood, I'm never really sure how far away I am from the car in front of me. Kinda scary. I hope I get my car back soon.

Reunion

After being back in town for awhile, I finally got back together with some of my high school friends. We met up at this little brewery/grill in town and hung out reminiscing about the good ole' days. We laughed all night talking about some of our old memories and just had a great time together again. It felt good hanging out with the people that I grew up with and went to elementary/junior high/high school with. It's kind of neat that even after being apart for a few years, we can still laugh about the same things and still feel so comfortable around each other. Now that I'm back in the area, I'm definetly gonna want to hang out more with my P-town buds.

I love technology

I love Google. I love beautiful days in the sun. I love wireless internet. I love working out on the patio.

Been thinking...

I spent a lot of time thinking this weekend. It feels like I've been on this little cloud in a daze. I stay up all night thinking and then by the time I fall asleep in the wee hours of the morning, I just keep sleeping until I wake up with a headache twelve or some odd hours later. During one of my late sleepless nights this weekend, I took out one of these little journals that has remained empty on my bedside table and actually started writing in it. I have never been able to faithfully keep a personal journal with my deepest thoughts, and the many failed attempts throughout the years have proven so. But that night, things were different, and once I started writing, I just kept going for a couple of hours. I finally see what others mean when they say that keeping a journal really helps them to sort their thoughts. Maybe I'll start doing it more regularly.

De-airbagged

The 'SRS' light on my dash came on while driving home last night. I called the service people this morning and was told that this means that if I'm in an accident, my airbags will not activate. Note to self: No more "aggressive" driving

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The skies are blue, the sun is shining, and I just feel like skipping and rolling around in the grass. I love living in California for days like these. It could be 80 degrees everyday and I would be the happiest girl that ever lived.

Soaking up the sun

I feel like I've just left Davis recently and I can hardly believe that it's already been 9 months since I graduated. Although it feels like just yesterday, I realized this weekend how long it has been and how many of the little memories I have already forgotten. I met up with a few of my college friends, a couple whom I haven't seen since I left Davis, and went on a weekend trip to Monterey. We spent the entire weekend catching up and bonding. The first night after dinner and some coffee, we all sat together, talked and reminisced until the wee hours of the morning. It couldn't have been a more beautiful or perfect weekend to visit the coast. Since the weather was so gorgeous, everyone was out and about. The streets were filled with shoppers and tourists all out to soak up the sun. I don't know if it was the warm weather, seeing my friends, or laughing about memories that made it a great weekend, although I'm positive it must have been the combination of all three, but I had a great weekend at the beautiful coast of California.
